Breaking New Ground
INFINITI’s Around View® Monitor[[5033]] broke new ground in onboard camera systems when it debuted in 2007; the latest version incorporating Moving Object Detection[[5034]] is even more helpful than a standard backup camera, it alerts you to moving objects detected around the vehicle.
While no camera system can replace a cautious and attentive driver, INFINITI technology is making parking easier for its drivers every day.
More than a Backup Camera
While each INFINITI model is equipped with a standard RearView Monitor, the available INFINITI Around View Monitor uses 4 vehicle-mounted cameras to create a virtual 360° view of what surrounds the vehicle, displaying it via the in-dash screen.
Audible Warning
Not only can you see what is around you on the in-dash monitor — sonar sensors[[5035]] on the front and rear bumpers help detect objects in your way. If an object is detected an audible warning will sound and a warning will appear on the screen.
Moving Object Detection
Moving Object Detection [[5034]], the latest addition to the Around View Monitor, detects movement in the front or the back of the vehicle but also senses motion on the sides, alerting the driver to moving objects detected around the vehicle. In fact, the in-dash display will even show the driver the area where the movement is occurring.
