INTELLIGENT ALL-WHEEL DRIVE
INFINITI's available All-Wheel Drive system monitors wheel-spin, throttle position and vehicle speed and sends up to 50% of the available power to the front wheels for better traction in adverse conditions. When AWD is not required, 100% of the power goes to the rear wheels for more responsive road performance.
Predictive Forward Collision Warning
This optional system can warn the driver of risks that may be obscured from the driver's forward field-of-view. It can sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, and the vehicle traveling in front of that one.[[5295]]

Backup Collision Intervention
With this available world’s first system, sensors on the sides and back of the Q70 help alert the driver of a potential collision with a crossing vehicle or large stationary objects detected while backing up. Should the driver continue moving on a collision course, the brakes can automatically engage.[[5334]]

The INFINITI Safety Shield® concept is our comprehensive approach to safety. The Q70 offers layered available technologies to help provide safety and convenience by monitoring conditions, helping you avoid a collision, and helping protect you and your passengers if one occurs.
This available technology automatically increases or decreases your speed to adapt to traffic flow.
In slowing traffic, this available, industry-first system can sense when the driver hasn’t released the accelerator and intuitively helps you release the throttle. It can also apply pressure to the brakes as needed.

The available Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention systems can help detect unintended lane drift and automatically assist the driver to return toward the center of the lane.
By providing both visual and audible warnings, this available world's first technology helps alert the driver to the presence of a detected vehicle in the blind-spot area. It also assists the driver in returning the vehicle back toward the center of the lane.
Preview function anticipates the need to apply emergency braking and pre-pressurize the brake system to help improve brake response.
When the system judges that braking is required, it alerts the driver with a visual cue and a sound, then subtly pushes the accelerator pedal against the driver’s foot and applies partial braking. If the system judges that there is the possibility of a collision, it can automatically apply harder braking to help avoid one.
