What You'll Do:

Enable Bluetooth® on your iPhone

Follow your INFINITI's on-screen prompts to complete wireless setup

For all features of Apple CarPlay® to operate correctly, it is necessary to have a compatible iPhone®, a cellular connection and a data plan. Some features will work without a data connection. [[5550]]

1. Park your vehicle and plug in your iPhone

2. Look for and accept the popup asking to connect while phone is locked

3. Check your iPhone Settings > Siri settings

4. Select "Siri & Search" 

5. Enable at least one of these options:

• Listen for "Hey Siri"

• Press Side Button for Siri

• Allow Siri When Locked

For vehicles not equipped with Wireless CarPlay®:

You'll need to plug in an Apple-certified USB cable to the USB1 port.

For vehicles equipped with Wireless Apple CarPlay®:

You'll first need to pair your iPhone to the vehicle via Bluetooth®. Once paired, a pop-up will appear asking if you would like to use CarPlay® wirelessly. You should also get a notification on your iPhone asking if you would like to use CarPlay® wirelessly. Select "Yes" for both notifications and you will then be able to use CarPlay® wirelessly. To use the INFINITI interface and exit Apple CarPlay®, push one of the hard buttons located on the left of the screen. To stop Apple CarPlay® completely, you must disconnect your iPhone® from the USB1 port. [[5550]]

Yes, but it may charge slower than usual depending on your usage. For example, having multiple apps running simultaneously (music, navigation, text messaging, etc.) may result in decreased charging performance. [[5550]]

No. The first time your iPhone® is connected, it will ask for your permission for Apple CarPlay® to work while the phone is locked. To change this setting at anytime, go to Settings-->General-->CarPlay®. Select the vehicle, then toggle the setting off/on. [[5550]]

Bluetooth® audio cannot be streamed from a device running Apple CarPlay®. If you are using a wired connection, you can use another device paired with the vehicle to stream audio. If you are using a wireless connection, you can plug your other device into the USB2 port to stream audio. [[5550]]

Apple CarPlay® is meant to integrate with your vehicle’s infotainment system, offering a simplified interface on your vehicle’s touchscreen display to control various iPhone functions. On the other hand,  Siri® Eyes Free focuses on voice commands and requires a Bluetooth® connection to operate. [[5550]]

Make sure that you are pushing and holding the TALK button on the right side of the steering wheel instead of just pushing the switch. (Short press initiates native Voice Recognition.)

You can control Apple Maps in Apple CarPlay® by tapping on the screen, or by using your voice. Either open Apple Maps in CarPlay® and use your fingers to use the intuitive on-screen controls, or just ask Siri® for directions, addresses, and more. [[5550]]
