Does my navigation system update automatically?
A map update is not automatic. However, it is easy to purchase the latest update. You can order your map update online at the INFINITI Navigation Store, or by calling 1-888-362-8837 Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm (EST), and Saturday 10am - 6pm (EST).
How often should I update my map?
To keep your navigation system performing at its best, it is important to update your map every time a new map is released. That's because up to 15% of roads and points of interest change between each map update release.
Why is a map update important?
A map update helps your navigation system keep up with a changing world. Each year, thousands of new miles of highway are added across the U.S. At the same time, roads change, there are new addresses and subdivisions, and businesses and stores open and close. That makes a map update essential for traveling with confidence.
How does a map update save time and money?
Your vehicle’s navigation system is designed to improve your route efficiency. Taking the suggested route may help save you valuable time and reduce fuel costs. Driving more efficiently can also help minimize wear and tear on your vehicle. A map update can help your navigation system perform as efficiently as possible, which may also help you save time and money.
How do I install my map update?
Once you receive your map update product, simply follow the easy instructions that are enclosed. You can order your map update online at the INFINITI Navigation Store, or by calling 1-888-362-8837 Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm (EST), and Saturday 10am - 6pm (EST).
What are the points of interest on a map update?
Points of Interest, or POIs, are important destinations that you should know about as you travel. Some POIs are landmarks or interesting places to visit, such as state parks. Others are exciting destinations, including restaurants, shopping and golf courses. POIs also include essential services, such as ATMs, gas stations, parking lots and pharmacies. It is important to note that there are thousands of POIs added between each map update. In addition, many POIs close or change their locations, so it is beneficial to have the latest map update information.
How can I update my Navigation data?
All updates are available at the INFINITI Navigation Store.
My apps are taking a while to download to the vehicle. Is this normal?
It is normal for the INFINITI InTouch™ Apps companion app to take several minutes to download apps to your vehicle. If downloading is taking longer, check to ensure that the phone is properly paired to the vehicle.
If the system is running or responding slowly or freezing, what can I do?
INFINITI InTouch™ uses an operating system like those found on many computers, tablets and cell phones. Like these devices, sometimes programs do not respond immediately and this may temporarily delay system use. In most situations, simply waiting a few moments longer should be sufficient for the pending operations to complete. The system can be easily reset if it temporarily does not respond to commands or freezes. Simply push down the Audio Power knob for at least 5 seconds. The system will turn off and restart. If you have a MY14 Q50, please contact your local authorized INFINITI retailer to confirm that your vehicle has the September 2014 software update installed.
It takes a while for the system to start-up before I can use audio, phone, navigation, app features, etc. Is this normal?
Due to the large number of features and capabilities that the INFINITI InTouch™ system needs to load on start-up, it may take up to a minute for all functions (such as Apps) to be available. The system will display "Now Loading All Apps…" during this time. During the start-up period, hard button controls for audio and climate will become available before startup is complete.
Can software updates be downloaded directly to the vehicle, so I don't have to go to the Retailer?
The software required to upgrade the system is very large and requires that the system be set to a special installation mode. Updating at your Retailer ensures that the integrity of the software update files are intact and completed.
I heard that I need a software update to start using INFINITI InTouch™ Apps in my MY14 Q50. Is that true?
It is true that you may need to have a software update to start using your INFINITI InTouch™ Apps in your MY14 Q50. To confirm that your vehicle needs the update please contact your local authorized INFINITI retailer to schedule an appointment. If you do need to bring your vehicle in for the software update, it will take anywhere from 1 - 2 hours to be installed.
Will I need to visit the retailer for future upgrades, including new Apps?
It is expected that you will only need to visit the retailer for major system updates.
What happens if I don’t get the software update? Will my vehicle stop working?
Your vehicle will continue to operate. However, this upgrade is recommended for your continued enjoyment of your MY14 INFINITI Q50 and its next generation information technology system. Without this upgrade, the INFINITI InTouch™ system will continue to function, but you will not have access to these new features or any performance enhancements included in the upgrade.
INFINITI Connection
How do I get started using INFINITI Connection?
If you purchased your vehicle new, you may have a trial available, but you will need to enroll to take advantage of that trial. It’s never been easier to get started - just ask your retailer to enroll you. Or, if you’d rather enroll on your own time, download the MyINFINITI app and either log in with or register a new MyINFINITI Owner Portal account.
Will I be notified if remote commands are successful or unsuccessful?
You can be notified of the success or failure of Remote commands if you have downloaded the MyINFINITI app and have enabled push notifications. You will also be shown the status of the command within the mobile app. If you have not started your vehicle's engine in the last 14 days, you will need to start your engine with the INFINITI Intelligent key before your vehicle will initiate Remote Engine Start/Stop commands.
What is Remote Door Lock/Unlock?
Remote Door Lock/Unlock allows you to remotely unlock or lock your INFINITI’s doors through the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal from any location. If you forgot to lock your vehicle, or if you need to open it and don’t have the keys, you can send a remote request. The doors will automatically relock if a door has not been opened within a minute after a successful remote unlock request. In order for the Remote Door Lock/Unlock command to be successful, your vehicle must meet the following criteria: - Engine must be off - Doors must be closed As an added security measure, A PIN is required before Remote Door Lock/Unlock feature can be used on the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal. Please secure your PIN appropriately and do not share it.
Which INFINITI Connection features require a PIN?
As an added security measure, a PIN is required before the Parked Car Finder (app only), Remote Engine Start/Stop, Remote Horn and Lights, and Remote Door Lock/Unlock features can be used on the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal. Please secure your PIN appropriately and do not share it.
Which INFINITI Connection features do not require a PIN?
A PIN is not required for information-only features like maintenance notifications, monitoring and alarm alerts, My Calendar, and destination search features. To access these information-only features, you must be signed in to the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal.
I already have an account for the MyINFINITI Owners Portal. How do I add my vehicle to My Garage?
To add your INFINITI to an existing Owners Portal account via My Garage, you will need to have your VIN available. You can also add a vehicle to My Garage by logging in to the MyINFINITI app using your existing Owners Portal account credentials.
How can I access INFINITI Connection online from the MyINFINITI Owners Portal
Log in to your MyINFINITI Owner Portal account and select your vehicle. Click on the INFINITI Connection button to access INFINITI Connection online.
Can I change the email I used to sign up for my MyINFINITI Owners Portal account?
Yes, you can change your email address for your MyINFINITI Owner Portal account by clicking "Personal Details" and selecting "Update my Email ID/User ID." "View Profile" from the MyINFINITI dashboard, then click the edit pencil icon next to "YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS". Please note, updating your MyINFINITI Owner Portal email will not automatically update the email used for INFINITI Connection communications. To update your email and contact preferences, click the INFINITI Connection tab in the Owner Portal. Click on Profile and update your email address under Account Information and Notification Preferences.
Can I receive push notifications for the INFINITI Connection features on my compatible smartphone?
To enable push notifications on your device, download the MyINFINITI app. If you have the MyINFINITI app and are not receiving notifications, please check your device settings.
What are the features, pricing, packages and services included with INFINITI Connection?

What forms of payment are accepted for INFINITI Connection subscription?

Where is INFINITI Connection available?
INFINITI Connection is available in all fifty United States for US subscribers, as well as all Canadian provinces for Canadian subscribers.
Is a credit card required for the INFINITI Connection trial?
Credit card information is not required to activate your trial offer. After your trial expires, a paid subscription is required to continue services.

IS THERE A TRIAL FOR MYINFINITI?
Yes. When you purchase or lease a new INFINITI equipped with INFINITI Connection, you are eligible to enroll in a trial subscription of INFINITI Connection Premier/Plus for up to six or twelve months from the date of purchase or lease. Trial times vary by model and/or year. To receive the trial subscription, you must enroll in the trial subscription through the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal. What is INFINITI Connection?
INFINITI Connection provides a suite of safety, security and convenience features and helps keep you connected to your INFINITI vehicle through your compatible smartphone, smartwatch, computer or smart speaker. INFINITI Connection can provide assitance in emergency situations, allow you to remotely control vehicle functions, and even monitor how it is being driven. *The feature availability depends on model/trim.

What is Connected Search and how do I access it?
Connected Search is a feature you can use from your INFINITI Navigation System to search for nearby places using the Internet. Connected Search will return Points of Interest results based on your search term and vehicle's current GPS location. You can access Connected Search from the INFINITI menu.
What is Destination Send to Car and how do I access it?
Destination Send-to-Car is accessed from the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal. You can search for various Points of Interest and access them in your vehicle. Once sent, you will need to sync your navigation system feed through the INFINITI Connection menu to download your destination.
What is Google® Send to Car?
If available, Google® Send to Car enables you to search for Points of Interest on the Google Maps™ website and send them directly to your INFINITI's navigation system. Once sent, you will need to sync your navigation system feed through the INFINITI Connection menu to download your destination. Google® Send to Car is not available on all models. Google® Send to Car may require subscription consent to activate. Certain services, including Google® Send to Car, are provided by independent companies not within INFINITI's or its corporate parent's control. What is Journey Planner and how do I access it?
Journey Planner allows you to plan road trips in advance before you leave home. Using the MyINFINITI Owner Portal, click the INFINITI Connection link and select the Destinations tab. Enter your starting point and end destination, plus up to four waypoints you’d like to visit along the way. Journey Planner will determine your route, calculate driving distance and time, and allow you to access your journey seamlessly in your vehicle. Once sent, you will need to sync your navigation system feed through the INFINITI Connection menu to download your journey.
What is My Schedule and how do I access it?
If available, My Schedule allows you to see your Google Calendar™ events in your vehicle. Sync your Google Calendar on the MyINFINITI Owner Portal, and you'll be able to see your schedule on your INFINITI display, or have your vehicle read your appointments out loud. Include an address in your calendar, and you can set it as your destination. To set up My Schedule, access INFINITI Connection via the Owner Portal. From the home screen, set up your calendar by selecting the Google account that you want to use, log in and allow sharing. You can then sync your personal Google Calendar with your vehicle.
How can I use My Schedule (Google Calendar™) to navigate to appointment locations?
In order to navigate to the location of your appointment, you must enter the street address in the "Location" field when creating a new Google Calendar event. If available in your vehicle, use of this service is subject to any applicable Google Calendar terms and conditions. You may access these terms and conditions via your Google Calendar account. The email address associated with your InTouch Services account must match the email address associated with your Google Calendar for this feature to function. Terms of INFINITI InTouch Services Subscription Agreement apply. Google Calendar™ is not available on all models.
My Schedule (Google Calendar™) is no longer updating in my vehicle what can I do?
You may need to refresh your Google Calendar by logging out and back into your Google Account from your web browser.
What is Alarm Notification?
Alarm Notification will notify you if your INFINITI's factory installed alarm has been triggered. This is especially useful when you are out of the alarm’s audible range. If you have selected to receive Alarm Notifications, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method: email, text message and/or push.
What is a Drive Zone Alert?
Drive Zone Alert helps you monitor your INFINITI when someone else is behind the wheel. Set a geographical driving Drive Zone on the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal to recieve an alert if your INFINITI arrives or departs your set Drive Zone. To use Drive Zone Alert, select an address, enter the desired radius of the Drive Zone, and choose to set arrival, departure, or both. Up to 10 active Drive Zone Alerts can be saved and you have the option to name each zone. If your INFINITI crosses a Drive Zone while active, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method: email, text message and/or push. You can set your preferences to display a notification pop-up in the vehicle itself to remind your secondary driver when they have arrived or departed the authorized zone.
Once a Drive Zone Alert is triggered will the vehicle operation change in any way?
No. The vehicle will not be immobilized or limited in any way.
What are Maintenance Alerts?
Maintenance Alert notifies you when a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is triggered and sends an alert via your preferred notification method: email, text message and/or push. These alerts are posted on the MyINFINITI Owner Portal, and made available to you in your INFINITI through both text display and audio alerts.
What is a Scheduled Maintenance Notification?
In the Vehicle Health Report, you will receive a Scheduled Maintenance Notification to let you know whenever your vehicle is due for service.
What is a Valet Alert?
Valet Alert allows you to monitor your INFINITI after you hand over your keys. If the vehicle leaves the preset radius, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method: email, text message and/or push. You can manage the Valet Alert feature on the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal.
Once a Valet Alert is triggered will the vehicle operation change in any way?
No. The vehicle will not be immobilized or limited in any way.
Will the occupant of my vehicle be aware if they have breached the Valet boundary?
There is no notification within the vehicle. Only those drivers who have been set to receive notifications will be alerted.
How do I opt-in to receive Push notifications if I previously selected to opt-out?
If you declined to allow push notifications when you downloaded the MyINFINITI app, you will need to visit your device settings and enable push notifications for INFINITI Connection. If you have enabled push notifications, you can choose to opt-in/opt-out of available feature notifications in the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal Preference Settings.
How do I access the INFINITI Connection menu from my vehicle display?
Accessing the INFINITI Connection menu varies by model. It will be on your Home screen, or you will need to select the Info button or the Apps button.
Do I need a smartphone to be able to use INFINITI Connection?
You can access all of the INFINITI Connection features through the MyINFINITI Owner Portal. However, downloading the MyINFINITI app is recommended for easy access to the safety, security and convenience features included in your package.
Are there limits to the number of times I can use INFINITI Connection?
You can access INFINITI Connection from your vehicle, computer or mobile device 24 hours a day, seven days a week with no limits on the number of times or amount of features used (based on the features available in your package subscription). Service limitations and Terms of INFINITI Connection Subscription Agreement apply.
What type of connection does INFINITI Connection use?
INFINITI Connection uses a telematics control unit that is embedded in the vehicle, connecting to a compatiable cellular network to access the suite of services. The services work using wireless communication networks and the Global Positioning System ("GPS") satellite network. Not all INFINITI Connection services are available everywhere, particularly in remote or enclosed areas. The area in which you are driving may affect the service that we can provide to you, including but not limited to routing and GPS services like our ability to determine your vehicle's precise location.
How does Automatic Collision Notification work?
Automatic Collision Notification triggers a connection from the car to the INFINITI Connection Emergency Response Center when the vehicle has been involved in a collision event and/or if the airbags have deployed. A specially trained Response Specialist will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to the vehicle if requested, or if the occupant is unresponsive. The Response Specialist will remain on the line with the occupant of the vehicle until assistance arrives and can also notify the the emergency contact on file. Automatic Collision Notification is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage.
What is Emergency Call?
If you find yourself in a dangerous situation or in need of emergency services, you can push the "SOS" button in your vehicle to connect to a INFINITI Connection Response Specialist who will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to your vehicle's location. Emergency Call is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage.
How do I request Roadside Assistance?
If you need Roadside Assistance, just touch the headset icon on your INFINITI display to access the voice menu, and say the words “Roadside Assistance”. You’ll be connected to a Response Specialist who can assist with dispatching third-party services to your location. You can also contact Roadside Assistance using the MyINFINITI app. Roadside Assistance is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage.
How does Stolen Vehicle Locator work?
Using sophisticated technology, the Stolen Vehicle Locator feature can help pinpoint your vehicle's location and assist police in recovering it, in the unfortunate event that it is ever stolen. In the event your INFINITI is stolen, you will need to first alert the local police and file a stolen vehicle police report. Next, call INFINITI Connection at 1-800-334-7858 with the police report number and request that the Stolen Vehicle Locator service be initiated on your vehicle. For your safety, when your vehicle has been located, the location will only be reported to law enforcement. You can contact INFINITI Connection to check the status of an existing Stolen Vehicle Locator request, request an extension, or initiate a new request. INFINITI Connection will cease tracking after 14 days, or as soon as the vehicle location is known. Vehicles that have been reported stolen cannot be accessed through the MyINFINITI app or MyINFINITI Owner Portal. When the vehicle's location is known, INFINITI Connect will contact the law enforcement agency in the jurisdiction where the vehicle has been located and advise authorities of its location. Your contact information will be provided to the law enforcement agency so that you can be notified after the vehicle has been successfully recovered. You can contact the local police at any time to check on the status of the stolen vehicle report.
Why are some of the INFINITI Connection functions limited while driving?
Driver distraction regulations may cause certain functions to be unavailable while driving. For example, keyboard entry is only available when the vehicle is stationary.
Can I type while driving?
No, the keyboard is locked out while driving for your safety. However, you can use voice response and customizable preset responses.

Will my vehicle's navigation system feature be affected by the discontinuation of the 2G and 3G cellular networks?
No. If your vehicle is equipped with an INFINITI navigation system, the navigation system is unaffected by the discontinuation of AT&T's 2G and 3G cellular networks.
AT&T has discontinued its 2G and 3G cellular networks. How does this affect my access to INFINITI InTouch Services/INFINITI Connection?
AT&T discontinued its 2G cellular network on December 31, 2016, as well as its 3G cellular network on February 22, 2022. As a result, all INFINITI vehicles equipped with telematics hardware compatible for use with 2G and 3G cellular networks are unable to access INFINITI InTouch Services and INFINITI Connection features. New enrollments for 2G customers were not allowed after July 1, 2016, and after June 1, 2021 for 3G customers. The decision to discontinue 2G and 3G network coverage was not made by INFINITI and this change is not within INFINITI's control.
What is 2G/3G cellular network access?
2G and 3G refer to "2nd Generation" and "3rd Generation" digital cellular telephone technology; these are the names of the specific networks that some mobile telephone equipment use to provide connectivity.
What vehicles were affected by this issue? How do I know if this issue affects me?
INFINITI contacted affected customers who owned or leased an applicable 2G vehicle before December 31, 2016 directly. Nissan also contacted affected 3G customers before June 1, 2021. INFINITI InTouch Services and INFINITI Connection customers can call 1-855-444-7244 to verify whether their vehicle is impacted. What is Apple CarPlay®?
Apple CarPlay is a smarter, more intuitive way to use your iPhone® in the car. CarPlay takes the things you want to do with your iPhone while driving and puts them right on your car’s built-in display. You can get directions, make calls, send and receive messages, and listen to music. Just plug in your iPhone and go.
Which INFINITI vehicles support Apple CarPlay®?
To view which vehicles are equipped with Apple CarPlay®, please visit https://www.infinitiusa.com/intouch/system-availability. As new INFINITI vehicles are equipped with CarPlay, INFINITI will announce the availability. Each INFINITI model must be designed specifically for Apple CarPlay™, and therefore models sold prior to the INFINITI introduction of CarPlay are not compatible.
Which devices (phones) are compatible with Apple CarPlay®?
To use Apple CarPlay, you need an iPhone 5 or later model with iOS 7.1 or later. Apple CarPlay is not compatible with non-Apple devices (Android/ Windows).
Where can I find the Apple CarPlay® app?
There is not an app for Apple CarPlay®; the software is built-in for iPhone 5 and newer models. Be sure to have the latest software installed on the phone for best results. Also, Siri® must be turned on in Settings.
How do I enable Apple CarPlay® in my iPhone settings?
When you are not driving and plug in your phone for the first time, you should receive a pop up asking if you want to connect to the vehicle while your phone is locked. Also make sure that Siri is turned on. Siri is automatically enabled on new iPhones running iOS 11 or later, but if you're unsure whether Siri has been disabled for your iPhone, go to Settings > Siri & Search and make sure any of the following options are enabled: - Listen for "Hey Siri" - Press Side Button for Siri - Allow Siri When Locked
How do I link my smartphone to the Apple CarPlay® system?
For vehicles equipped with Wireless Apple Carplay: You'll first need to pair your iPhone to the vehicle via Bluetooth. Once paired, a pop-up will appear asking if you would like to use CarPlay wirelessly. You should also get a notification on your iPhone asking if you would like to use CarPlay wirelessly. Select "Yes" for both notifications and you will then be able to use CarPlay wirelessly. Once you've made the initial bluetooth connection, your mobile device should connect seamlessly with your infotainment system as long as it is running the latest version of the Apple IOS when you enter your vehicle. If you are having trouble accessing Wireless Apple CarPlay, please toggle your Wi-Fi off and then back on from your mobile device. Wireless Apple CarPlay will be limited if you are using other Wi-Fi related features within your vehicle at the same time. In order to keep enjoying Apple CarPlay, while utilizing another Wi-Fi related feature (System Update or INFINITI InTouch with Wi-Fi Hotspot), please plug your device directly into the USB1 port included in your vehicle. For vehicles NOT equipped with Wireless Carplay: You'll need to plug in an Apple-certified USB cable to the USB1 port.
Why do I need to use a USB cable with my iPhone®?
Select INFINITI models are equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay capability. To find out if your vehicle has wireless Apple CarPlay capability, see the System Availability & Compare tool or contact your dealer. If your vehicle does not have wireless Apple CarPlay capability, you will need to use an Apple-certified USB cable to use Apple CarPlay.
Can I still stream Bluetooth® audio from my iPhone®?
Bluetooth audio cannot be streamed from a device running Apple CarPlay. If you are using a wired connection, you can use another device paired with the vehicle to stream audio. If you are using a wireless connection, you can plug your other device into the USB2 port to stream audio.
Does Apple CarPlay® support multiple phones and drivers?
Apple CarPlay only supports one iPhone at a time. If you are using a wired connection, simply plug the new iPhone into the USB1 port and follow the on-screen instructions. If you are using a wireless connection, you will need to pair the new iPhone with the vehicle via Bluetooth and follow the setup instructions above for wireless Apple CarPlay.
While connected to USB1, will my iPhone® charge?
Yes, but it may charge more slowly than usual depending on your usage. For example, having multiple apps running simultaneously (music, navigation, text messaging, etc.) may result in decreased charging performance.
Does my phone need to be unlocked to use Apple CarPlay®?
No. The first time your iPhone® is connected, it will ask for your permission for Apple CarPlay® to work while the phone is locked. To change this setting at anytime, go to Settings-->General-->CarPlay. Select the vehicle, then toggle the setting off/on.
Do I need a data plan?
For all features of Apple CarPlay® to operate correctly, it is necessary to have a compatible iPhone®, a cellular connection and a data plan. Some features will work without a data connection.
Is Apple CarPlay® affected by functionality changes?
Functionality of Apple CarPlay® may decrease or be lost if there are changes to operating systems, hardware, software or other technologies central to supporting the system that are outside of INFINITI's control. Changing government regulations may also affect operation of Apple CarPlay.
Why am I having performance issues?

Why can't I access Siri® using the steering wheel switch?
Make sure that you are pushing and holding the TALK button on the right side of the steering wheel instead of just pushing the switch. (Short press initiates native Voice Recognition.) You should also do the following: - Confirm that Siri® is enabled on your iPhone®. - Confirm that you are using an Apple-certified cable. - Confirm that your USB cable is properly connected. Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable, ensuring it's connected to USB1.
How do I adjust volume while using Apple CarPlay®?
Volume controls (steering wheel buttons or volume knob) are used to control audio volume, ringer volume and Siri/guidance volume, depending on what is currently playing through the car speakers. The volume adjust should default back to audio/music volume when the guidance/Siri is over, in some cases the customer may need to wait before adjusting music volume.
How do I control Apple Maps?
You can control Apple Maps in Apple CarPlay® by tapping on the screen, or by using your voice. Either open Apple Maps in CarPlay and use your fingers to use the intuitive on-screen controls, or just ask Siri® for directions, addresses, and more.
How do I exit Apple CarPlay®?
To use the INFINITI interface and exit Apple CarPlay®, push one of the hard buttons located on the left of the screen. To stop Apple CarPlay® completely, you must disconnect your iPhone® from the USB1 port.
Why can't I see all of my apps in Apple CarPlay®?

What are the compatibility requirements for Android Auto™?

How do I get directions with Android Auto™?
With Android Auto™ open, use the app launcher to open Google Maps and search for your destination.
How do I send and receive calls and text messages with Android Auto™?
To make calls with Android Auto™, use the app launcher to open the Phone app to reach a specific contact or dial a number. When a call is received, a notification will appear at the top of your screen - select it to start the call. To send text messages with Android Auto™, use the app launcher to open the Messages app and select your contact. You can say your message aloud when prompted. Received text messages will appear as notifications at the top of your screen - select them and Android Auto will read them aloud.
How do I listen to music with Android Auto™?
Android Auto™ is compatible with Google Music, along with other third party music and streaming apps. To open Google Music, use the app launcher to open it and select from any of the menu options.
How much data does Android Auto™ use?
Controlling your apps through Android Auto™ does not increase the amount of data they use. For example, streaming music for one hour in Android Auto™ uses the same data as one hour of music streaming normally on your Android phone.
Will using Android Auto™ drain my battery?
When you connect your phone to run Android Auto™, your battery receives power through your car's USB port. If your phone requires more power than the USB connection can give it, you may notice some battery drain. If your phone is losing battery when connected, consider upgrading your USB cable or manage your battery life by closing apps that are using a lot of power.
Can I do anything else on the phone while driving?
Driving is serious business and requires your full attention. Only use features and connected devices when safe and legal to do so.
Can I watch videos?
No, Android Auto™ does not support video apps.
Can I use the on-screen keyboard?
No, you can't use the keyboard while driving. You can use the keyboard when the car is parked.
Why does the voice button take me out of Android Auto™?
When using your vehicle’s voice command button for Android Auto™, make sure that you hold it down until you hear the system beep. A short press will generally take you out of Android Auto and back into your vehicles’s native voice recognition system.
Does it matter where I put the phone?
In most Android Auto™-compatible vehicles the location of the phone is not important. The GPS location used by Android Auto apps comes from GPS in the car, not just the GPS in the phone.
I connected the phone and nothing happened. What now?
If this is the first time you’re using Android Auto™ in your vehicle, be sure to unlock your phone and accept the terms and conditions on your phone’s screen after you’ve connected and touched the Android Auto™ button on your display. You should also do the following: - Make sure that the "Only connect to known cars" setting in the Android Auto app is unchecked. - Make sure to use the USB cable provided with your phone at purchase, or another compatible USB cable. - Locate the Android Auto icon/button on your car’s infotainment system to open Android Auto.
How do I connect a second car to Android Auto™?
If you're having trouble connecting to a second car, go to the Android Auto™ app on your phone and uncheck the box next to the "Only connect to known cars" setting, and try plugging in again.
Why is Google Assistant not working in my INFINITI?
Google Assistant is no longer available in INFINITI InTouch due to a recent update. For Android Auto users, this feature is still available and integrated with Android Auto.

Will I be notified if remote commands are successful or unsuccessful?

What is Remote Door Lock/Unlock?
Remote Door Lock/Unlock allows you to remotely unlock or lock your INFINITI ’s doors through the MyINFINITI App or MyINFINITI Owners Portal from any location. If you forgot to lock your vehicle, or if you need to open it and don’t have the keys, you can send a remote request. The doors will automatically relock if a door has not been opened within a minute after a successful remote unlock request. In order for the Remote Door Lock/Unlock command to be successful, your vehicle must meet the following criteria: - Engine must be off. - Doors must be closed.
What is Remote Engine Start/Stop?
Remote Engine Start/Stop allows you to remotely start or stop your vehicle through the MyINFINITI App or MyINFINITI Owners Portal. You can remotely start your vehicle before you leave home or work in advance to return it to a comfortable temperature. Remote Engine Start/Stop is not available on all models. Remote Engine Start/Stop may be subject to state or local regulations governing engine idling or noise in the location of your vehicle. How does Remote Engine Start/Stop work?
When you start your vehicle with Remote Engine Start the engine will run for 10 minutes. There is an option to just use the flash lights mode. For a more discrete option, you can just flash the lights. In order for the Remote Horn & Lights command to be successful, your vehicle's engine must be off. Which INFINITI InTouch Services features require a PIN?
As an added security measure, A PIN is required before the Parked Car Finder (app only), Remote Engine Start/Stop, Remote Horn and Lights, and Remote Door Lock/Unlock features can be used on the INFINITI InTouch Services app or Owners Portal. Please secure your PIN appropriately and do not share it.
Which INFINITI InTouch Services features do not require a PIN?

Journey Planner allows you to plan road trips in advance before you leave home. Using the INFINITI Owners Portal, click the INFINITI InTouch Services link and select the Destinations tab. Enter your starting point and end destination, plus up to four waypoints you’d like to visit along the way. Journey Planner will determine your route, calculate driving distance and time, and access your Journey seamlessly in you vehicle. send your named Journey seamlessly to the INFINITI Navigation System. What is My Schedule and how do I access it?
If available, My Schedule allows you to see your Google CalendarTM events in your vehicle. Sync your Google Calendar on the INFINITI Owners Portal, and you'll be able to see your schedule on your INFINITI display, or have your vehicle read your appointments out loud. Include an address in calendar, and you can set it as your destination. To set up My Schedule, access the INFINITI InTouch Services via the Owners Portal. From the home screen, set up your calendar by selecting the Google account that you want to use, log in and allow sharing. You can then sync your personal Google Calendar with your vehicle.
How can I use My Schedule (Google Calendar™) to navigate to appointment locations?
In order to navigate to the location of your appointment, you must enter the street address in the "Location" field when creating a new Google Calendar event. If available in your Vehicle, use of this Service is subject to any applicable Google Calendar terms and conditions. You may access these terms and conditions via your Google Calendar account. What is Alarm Notification?
Alarm Notification will notify you if your INFINITI 's factory installed alarm has been triggered. This is especially useful when you are out of the alarm’s audible range. If you have selected to receive Alarm Notifications, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push.
What is Curfew Alert?
Curfew Alert allows you to establish and monitor the time and day when your INFINITI is driven. If your INFINITI is driven outside the scheduled periods of time, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push. Curfew Alert can be established via your INFINITI InTouch Services app or MyINFINITI Owners Portal. To use Curfew Alerts name your alert, select the applicable days of the week and set the start and end times. You may set two Curfew Alerts at a time. You can set your preferences to display a notification pop-up in the vehicle itslef, to remind your secondary driver when the vehicle is driven outside the permitted curfew.

What is a Drive Zone Alert?
Drive Zone Alert helps you monitor your INFINITI when someone else is behind the wheel. Set a geographical driving Drive Zone on the app or Owners Portal to recieve an alert if your INFINITI arrives or departs your set Drive Zone. To use Drive Zone Alert, select an address, enter the desired radius of the Drive Zone, and choose to set arrival, departure, or both. Up to 10 active Drive Zone Alerts can be saved and you have the option to name each zone. If your INFINITI crosses a Drive Zone while active, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push. You can set your preferences to display a notification pop-up in the vehicle itself to remind your secondary driver when they have arrived or departed the authorized zone.

What are Maintenance Alerts?
The Maintenance Alert notifies you when a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is triggered and an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push. These alerts are posted on the MyINFINITI Owners Portal, and made available to you in your INFINITI through both text display and audio alerts.
What is a Max Speed Alert?
Stay informed on how fast your INFINITI is driven even when you're not beghind the wheel. Set a speed threshold on the MyINFINITI App or Owners Portal and you'll receive an alert if your vehicle exceeds it. If the maximum speed is breached, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push. You can also set your preferences to display a notification pop-up in the vehicle itself to remind your secondary driver when they have exceeded the established speed limit. The Max Speed Alert setting is created by you and does not take into account established speed limits.
What is a Scheduled Maintenance Notification?
In the Vehicle Health Report you will receive a Scheduled Maintenance Notification to let you know whenever vehicle is due for service.
What is Valet Alert?
Valet Alert allows you to monitor your INFINITI after you hand over your keys. What is a Vehicle Health Report?
The Vehicle Health Report provides you with a monthly performance evaluation and any recent malfunction alerts triggered by you INFINITI. You can review the detailed report on the INFINITI InTouch Services app or MyINFINITI Owners Portal.
How do I access the INFINITI InTouch Services menu from my vehicle display?
Accessing the INFINITI InTouch Services menu varies by model. It will be on your Home screen, or you will need to select the Info button or the Apps button.
Do I need a smartphone to be able to use INFINITI InTouch Services?

What type of connection does INFINITI InTouch Services use?
INFINITI InTouch Services uses a telematics control unit that is embedded in the vehicle, connecting to a compatiable cellular network to access the suite of services. The Services work using wireless communication networks and the Global Positioning System ("GPS") satellite network. Not all NissanConnect Services are available everywhere, particularly in remote or enclosed areas. The area in which you are driving may affect the service that we can provide to you, including but not limited to routing and GPS services like our ability to determine your Vehicle's precise location.
How does Automatic Collision Notification work?
Automatic Collision Notification [[2322]] triggers a connection from the car to the INFINITI InTouch Services Emergency Response Center when the vehicle has been involved in a collision event and/or if the airbags have deployed. A specially trained Response Specialist will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to the vehicle if requested, or if the occupant is unresponsive. The Response Specialist will remain on the line with the occupant of the vehicle until assistance arrives and can calso notify the the emergency contact on file. Automatic Collision Notification is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage.
What is Emergency Call?
If you find yourself in a dangerous situation or in need of emergency services, you can push the "SOS" button in your vehicle to connect to a INFINITI InTouch Services Response Specialist who will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to your vehicle's location. Emergency Call is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage. [[2322]]
How do I request Roadside Assistance?
If you need Roadside Assistance, just touch the headset icon on your INFINITI display to access the voice menu, and say the words “Roadside Assistance”. You’ll be connected to a Response Specialist who can assist with dispatching third-party services to your location. You can also easily contact Roadside Assistance using the MyINFINITI App. Roadside Assistance is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage.
How does Stolen Vehicle Locator work?
Using sophisticated technology, the Stolen Vehicle Locator feature can help pinpoint your vehicle's location and assist police in recovering it, in the unfortunate event that it is ever stolen. In the event your INFINITI is stolen, you will need to first alert the local police and file a stolen vehicle police report. Next, call INFINITI InTouch Services at [Nissan 1-844-711-8100; INFINITI 1-800-334-7858] with the police report number and request that the Stolen Vehicle Locator service be initiated on your vehicle. For your safety, when your vehicle has been located, the location will only be reported to law enforcement. You can contact INFINITI InTouch Services to check the status of an existing Stolen Vehicle Locator request, request an extension, or initiate a new request. INFINITI InTouch Services will cease tracking after 14 days, or as soon as the vehicle location is known. Vehicles that have been reported stolen cannot be accessed through the MyINFINITI App or MyINFINITI Owners Portal. When the vehicle's location is known, INFINITI InTouch Services will contact the law enforcement agency in the jurisdication where the vehicle has been located and advise authorities of its location. Your contact information will be provided to the law enforcement agency so that you can be notified after the vehicle has been successfully recovered. You can contact the local police at any time to check on the status of the stolen vehicle report.
Why are some of the INFINITI InTouch Services functions limited while driving?
Driver distraction regulations may cause certain functions to be unavailable while driving. For example, keyboard entry is only available when the vehicle is stationary.
Can I type while driving?
No, the keyboard is locked out while driving for your safety. However, you can use voice response and customizable preset responses.
What vehicles were affected by this issue? How do I know if this issue affects me?
INFINITI contacted affected customers who owned or leased an applicable vehicle before June 1, 2021. INFINITI InTouch Services and INFINITI Connection customers can also call 1-855-444-7244 to verify whether their vehicle is impacted. Once my subscription to INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps expires, will the expiration impact other functionalities of my vehicle?
No. If your vehicle is equipped with features like a radio, INFINITI Navigation system, or Bluetooth technology, they will be unaffected by the discontinuation of INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps.
Before my subscription to INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps expires, is there anything that I need to do?
No. Your services will discontinue on the expiration date provided to you. After your subscription ends, we recommend that you delete the INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps companion app from your smartphone.
What is the difference between INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps and INFINITI InTouch Services?
With INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps, you can pair the app to your vehicle (only available on older model vehicles) and use a number of third-party apps, like Facebook, on your INFINITI’s display screen. As of May 1, 2020 the INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps program has been retired and will no longer be available for new downloads via the Apple App store or Google Play. INFINITI InTouch Services, if equipped, is a different program that allows you to send remote commands to your vehicle though the MyINFINITI App, Amazon Alexa or through the INFINITI Owners Portal. For equipped vehicles, there will be no impact to INFINITI InTouch Services with the discontinuation of INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps.
Once my subscription to INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps expires, will it change the way the third-party apps work on my phone?
The third party apps on your phone will not be impacted with the discontinuation of INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps.
After my subscription to INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps expires, can I pay to keep the service?
No, INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps is a complimentary service that is being discontinued as of May 1, 2020. No new downloads will be available in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Are INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps available while driving?
All INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps are available while the vehicle is in motion, but may be modified in terms of presentation and feature availability to avoid driver distraction. We recommend PIN protecting your Email and Calendar apps for added security. Can I use the Email app to check email from an address other than the one I use to log into MYINFINITI app?
You can use any email address from a supported provider, regardless of the email you use to login to your InTouch Services Apps Account. Does the Calendar app provide an alert prior to a scheduled event?
If you have enabled pop-up reminders, a reminder will appear on the screen 10 minutes prior to the event. As of May 1, 2020 the INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps program has been retired and will no longer be available for new downloads via the Apple App store or Google Play.
How do I protect my Emails and Calendar appointments from being seen by other drivers of my vehicle?
Through INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps you have the option of setting up multiple user profiles and PIN protecting your Email and Calendar accounts. We recommend establishing user profiles for each driver and PIN protecting them if you do not want other drivers to potentially read your Emails or have access to your Calendar appointments. Emails and Calendar appointments are cached so there is a possibility that other drivers could see this information if PIN protection is not used.
What is INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps?
On select older model vehicles, INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps allows you to seamlessly connect your digital life to your vehicle in a new and exciting way. When using the Email app, do the email accounts I want to access need to already be present and authenticated on my phone?
You do not need to use the same email as what is authenticated on your phone, however some email providers, such as Gmail, may require you to authorize use through a computer before syncing. Please check with your email provider to determine if you need additional authorization to use email in your vehicle.

It works by connecting your smartphone to your older model INFINITI vehicle to deliver popular apps and services into your INFINITI, all personalized by you. Can prior model year vehicles be upgraded with new software that is compatible with INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps?

How many email accounts can I set up using the vehicle’s Email app?
The Email app supports up to 5 different users, and each user can have up to 5 accounts.
How many calendar accounts can I set up using the vehicle’s Calendar app?
The Calendar app supports up to 5 different users, and each user can have up to 5 accounts.
What account types are supported for the Email app?
The Email app will support accounts through Gmail, Outlook.com Mail, Yahoo Mail, and manual set up including detailed information for IMAP or POP accounts. Email does not support VPN accounts.
What account types are supported for the Calendar app?
The Calendar app will support accounts through Google Calendar and iCloud.
How do I rearrange the apps displayed on my vehicle's touch screen?
Hold and drag the icon to the desired location, similar to how you would rearrange icons on your smartphone.
Can I change the email I used to sign up for my owner portal account?
You can change your email address in your Owner Portal Account settings.
Can I delete my INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps account?
Yes, you can delete your INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps account through the companion app or through the Owner Portal. As of May 1, 2020 the INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps program has been retired and will no longer be available for new downloads via the Apple App store or Google Play.
Will my personal information be stored by INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps if my account is deleted?
Most of the information used for INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps is stored on your phone, so once your account is deleted, your phone and your car are no longer connected and personal information is not stored. However, in the case of Email and Calendar, appointments and messages recieved by the system prior to account deletion are cached and to delete them entirely from the vehicle you must delete the user account they are attached to from the Settings menu. As of May 1, 2020 the INFINITI InTouch Mobile Apps program has been retired and will no longer be available for new downloads via the Apple App store or Google Play.
Is my billing information retained by INFINITI InTouch™ Mobile Apps?

In the case of Email and Calendar apps, information is cached in the system, and can be PIN protected so that others cannot view your emails or calendar appointments.
