Maintenance Alert helps you stay on top of maintenance by notifying you when a malfunction indicator light (MIL) is triggered in your vehicle. Notifications can be triggered by a range of sub-system malfunctions like low battery, low tire or oil pressure, brake, airbag or engine issues. The MyINFINITI app lets you choose how you want to be notified when an alert is triggered. Email, text, push notification, or in-vehicle message—the choice is yours.[[5550]]

Vehicle Maintenance Data Sharing

Share your vehicle maintenance data directly with your prefered INFINITI Retailer when a malfunction indicator light (MIL) is triggered by your vehicle. This enhancement to Maintenance Alerts is available on select INFINITI models. [[5550]]

Feature Benefits

When a malfunction indicator light (MIL) is triggered in the vehicle, you can receive a notification on the MyINFINITI app.

Opt-in to share your MIL alerts with your Preferred INFINITI Retailer so that they can get in touch with you in a timely manner about your vehicle maintenance needs. [[5611]]

Service Consultants can access the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard to view the MILs that have been triggered for up to 90 days and are able to reach out via email, phone, or text to set up an appointment to investigate the issue.

How to Opt-in

You can opt-in to share your Vehicle Maintenance Data with your preferred INFINITI Retailer in the MyINFINITI App. The opt-in card for Vehicle Maintenance Data Sharing is located in the My Dealer setting in Vehicle Preference under Vehicle Profile. The opt-in card can also be located under the Vehicle Status page when a MIL has been triggered. You will also need to set your contact preferences (email, phone, or text). [[5611]]

Curfew Alert

Set a time for your vehicle to be parked at home at a reasonable hour. Use the preferences settings in your MyINFINITI app to set a curfew, and if your vehicle is driven outside of that window, you'll be notified instantly. [[5550]]

When it's close to curfew, a gentle beeping noise will sound inside the vehicle and a 20-minute reminder message will display on the INFINITI InTouch screen to let young drivers know that it’s time to go home.

Use the preference settings on the MyINFINITI App to choose whether you want to be notified by email, text, push notification or in-vehicle message when your vehicle is driven past curfew.

Drive Zone Alert

Stay in control of where your vehicle goes by setting geographical driving zones on the MyINFINITI app. If your vehicle enters or leaves the boundaries you've set up, you'll be notified immediately. [[5550]]

An in-vehicle notification will remind your secondary driver that they are outside authorized zones, so you don't have to.

Valet Alert

Get extra peace of mind any time you leave your keys with a valet parking attendant. Enable Valet Alert using the MyINFINITI app and set a radius for where your car should be. If your vehicle moves outside the radius you set, you’ll be the first to know with alerts and notifications. [[5550]]

Worry-free valet parking

On the MyINFINITI app, select whether you want to receive alerts by email, text, or push notification if a valet violation occurs.

When you're ready to get your vehicle, simply disable Valet Alert through your smartphone app and you'll be ready to go.

Max Speed Alert

Set a speed threshold on the MyINFINITI app to stay up-to-speed with alerts on how fast your vehicle is being driven—even when you're not the one driving it. [[5550]]

Once a Drive Zone, Curfew or Valet Alert is triggered, will the vehicle operation change in any way?

No. The vehicle will not be immobilized or limited in any way.

Will the occupant of my vehicle be aware if they have breached the Valet boundary?

There is no notification within the vehicle. Only those drivers who have been set to receive notifications will be alerted.

Is Max Speed Alert influenced by local/established speed limits?

No. The Speed Alert setting is created by you and does not take into account established speed limits.

What information is shared with the INFINITI Retailer when a malfunction indicator light is triggered?

The shared information may contain details such as: general location, vehicle identification number (VIN), model and model year, customer name, customer phone or email, MIL name with description (Oil pressure, Check Engine Light, ABS Warning, Brakes, Tire Pressure, and Airbag), and MIL date/time.

Do I have to opt-in to share Vehicle Maintenance Data with my preferred INFINITI Retailer?

Yes, in order to share the Vehicle Maintenance Data with the Retailer, you MUST opt-in, as currently the default setting is opted-out. While it is entirely up to you to share your vehicle data with your preferred INFINITI Retailer, we would encourage you to opt-in to receive the benefits of this feature. If you choose not to opt-in, you will still receive notifications in the vehicle, via the MyINFINITI app and notifications as set in your preferences.

What if I am opted-in but later decide I no longer want to share my Vehicle Maintenance Data with my preferred INFINITI Retailer?

You may opt-out from sharing your vehicle data with your Retailer at any time. However, if there is a triggered MIL alert, the Retailer will still have access to the data for up to 90 days before it is removed from the Retailer Dashboard. It may take up to 2 hours to reflect this change.

What if I have selected a preferred INFINITI Retailer to share my Vehicle Maintenance Data with but want to change to a different Retailer?

You are able to change your Retailer at any time if you wish to share data with a different Retailer. They would need to opt-out from sharing with the current Retailer, before selecting the new Retailer. The previous Retailer will still have access to the data for up to 90 days before it is removed from the Retailer Dashboard. The newly selected Retailer will only receive any new triggered MIL data. It may take up to 2 hours to reflect this change.

Can I wait until I arrive at the Retailer to share my Vehicle Maintenance Data?

Yes, you may opt-in at any time. However, if you opted-out and an MIL is triggered and decide to opt-in at that time, the Retailer will NOT be able to see that data. Only newly triggered MILs will be sent to the Retailer Connected Car Alerts Dashboard once they are opted-in. It may take up to 2 hours to reflect.

How long is my Vehicle Maintenance Data available to the Retailer?

The Vehicle Maintenance Data in the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard is accessible to the Retailer for up to 90 days. The data will be deleted from the Dashboard after 90 days (with no ability to look up historical data).

Where is the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard located?

The Connected Car Alerts Dashboard can be found within VCAT, under the Menu section located on the left hand side of the screen.

Who has access to the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard?

The Service Managers, Service Advisors and Technicians. However, Technicians have limited visibility to the customer's contact information.
