Bluetooth® features

Turn off Bluetooth on other devices to avoid interference.

Place your device close to the vehicle's audio system to maximize signal strength.

Make sure your device is fully charged as low battery level might impact the connection.

Move metal, such as coins or metal pens, away from your Bluetooth device and the vehicle's audio system.

Bluetooth is a wireless technology that enables connectivity between multiple electronic devices by utilizing a 2.4 GHz radio spectrum that has a range of approximately 30 feet. Bluetooth will allow you to use your cell phone hands-free in the vehicle.

Try these tips to start enjoying the benefits of Bluetooth right away:

- Try our Connect to Bluetooth instructions to get set up
- For text messaging, use the phone button on your steering wheel and say "Read Text" to listen to a message, "Next Text" to hear another message, or say "Send Text to" and the name of the person you want to text. Follow the voice feedback that will be provided by the system.
- For streaming, press the "Aux" button on the package until you see the Bluetooth Audio screen appear
- For voice commands, press the "Voice Commands" button on the main menu to explore the list of recognized commands

Bluetooth compatibility will vary based on the vehicle model and trim. Check Device Compatibility to determine availability.

When a software version is noncompatible, calling functions, like making, accepting, and ending phone calls, do not function properly and/or the Bluetooth connection is not stable. Check Device Compatibility and update to the latest compatible software version listed for your device. If you're still having trouble, contact us.

We’re always on the lookout for new phones, testing the most recent Bluetooth-compatible phones for compatibility with your INFINITI vehicle. If you checked Device Compatibility for the device you want to use with our Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System but did not see it listed, contact us.

Bluetooth adapters do not work—only cell phones with Bluetooth built in and listed as an INFINITI-recommended phone will operate correctly.

Once you pair an INFINITI-recommended Bluetooth cellular phone to the vehicle, the following features are available: 

- Hands-free mobile phone operation with a built-in microphone and utilization of the audio speaker 
- Ability to switch between a hands-free call and a private call 
- Vehicle-based phonebook 
- Voice commands and verbal feedback prompts 
- Choice of different ring tones

A subscription fee is not required to use the Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System.

The system supports up to five different phones. However, only one phone can be used at a time. If you try to add a sixth phone, the system will request you delete one phone.

Having problems with Bluetooth even after setting it up? Follow these tips to optimize your connectivity:

- Place your device close to the package to maximize signal strength.
- Make sure your device is fully charged as low battery level might impact the connection.
- Connect your device via AUX or USB cable.
- Turn off Bluetooth (if on), then turn it on again. Remove the pairing on your device and vehicle, then pair them again.
- On your phone, check for the Bluetooth symbol. If you don't see it, turn Bluetooth on and/or set to 'Discoverable' at all times, and/or make sure that the vehicle is marked as a 'trusted' device. 
- Restart your device and vehicle.

Here are some tips to help pair them again:

- Turn off Bluetooth on the device that was most recently paired
- Turn off Bluetooth on the device Bluetooth can't find (if on), then turn it on again
- Give your device time to be discovered (at least 1 minute)
- Remove the pairing on your device and vehicle, then pair them again

Don't know how to retrieve your SMS messages? Check out these instructions:

- On your phone, make sure that your text message is on
- Activate your Hands-Free Text Messaging Assistant using the phone button on your steering wheel
- Say "Read Text" to listen to a message and "Next Text" to hear any other messages stored in your system
