Android Auto™

Get easy access to your favorite music, media, and messaging apps in the car. When you open Android Auto on your vehicle's screen, you'll be taken to the app launcher, which lays out your most frequently used compatible apps in the top row. Use the app launcher to locate and open apps you want to use while driving.

It’s easy to get where you are going with free voice guided navigation, live traffic information, lane guidance and more. With Android Auto open, use the app launcher to open Google Maps and search for your destination. 

To make calls, use the Phone app to dial numbers or search your contacts or use your voice with Google Assistant for hands-free calling. When a call is received, a notification will appear at the top of your screen. Select it to start the call.

To send text messages, ask Google Assistant to send a text and say your message aloud when prompted. Incoming texts will appear as notifications on your screen. Just tap one to have Google Assistant read it out loud so you can stay informed.

With Android Auto you can enjoy your favorite songs, podcasts, books and more. Use your voice to easily search by artist, find something to match your mood, or resume your podcast or book from where you left off. You can also skip songs or fast forward and adjust the volume.

Controlling your apps through Android Auto does not increase the amount of data they use. For example, streaming music for one hour in Android Auto uses the same data as one hour of music streaming normally on your Android phone.

There is no cost to connect Android Auto to your INFINITI vehicle.

Driving is serious business and requires your full attention. Only use features and connected devices when safe and legal to do so.

No, Android Auto does not support video apps.

No, you can't use the keyboard while driving. You can use the keyboard when the car is parked.

When using your vehicle’s voice command button for Android Auto, make sure that you hold it down until you hear the system beep. A short press will generally take you out of Android Auto and back into your vehicle’s native voice recognition system.

In most Android Auto-compatible vehicles the location of the phone is not important. The GPS location used by Android Auto apps comes from GPS in the car, not just the GPS in the phone.

If this is the first time you’re using Android Auto in your vehicle, be sure to unlock your phone and accept the terms and conditions on your phone’s screen after you’ve connected and touched the Android Auto button on your display.

You should also do the following:
- Make sure that the "Only connect to known cars" setting in the Android Auto app is unchecked
- Make sure to use the USB cable provided with your phone at purchase, or another compatible USB cable
- Locate the Android Auto icon/button on your car’s infotainment system to open Android Auto

If you're having trouble connecting to a second car, go to the Android Auto app on your phone and uncheck the box next to the "Only connect to known cars" setting, and try plugging in again.

Google Assistant is no longer available in INFINITI InTouch due to a recent update. For Android Auto users, this feature is still available and compatible with Android Auto.
