5-Star Overall Safety Rating
The 2014 Infiniti Q50 has been awarded a 5-Star overall safety rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under the agency's New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).[*] The ratings system is designed to provide consumers with information about crash protection and rollover safety. Five stars is the highest possible rating.
Lane Departure Prevention with Active Lane Control
An Industry First
Infiniti’s Lane Departure Prevention system senses unintended lane drift and automatically helps you return the car to the center of the travelling lane.[*]
Infiniti’s Lane Departure Prevention system uses a camera to monitor the distance between the vehicle and lane markings. If the vehicle drifts, the system signals a warning and can help the driver return the car to the center of the travelling lane.
Predictive Forward Collision Warning
Anticipate the Road Ahead
This world's first system warns the driver of risks that may be obscured from the driver's view. It can not only sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle travelling in front of the preceding one.[*]
Two vehicles ahead
A vehicle slows down suddenly and unexpectedly, triggering a potentially dangerous situation.
Directly in front
The driver reacts to the sudden slowdown by quickly stepping on the brakes, but it may not be enough to prevent a collision.
Because of Predictive Forward Collision Warning, you have already been alerted to the potential risk and can respond accordingly, helping to avoid a collision.[*]
Back-up Collision Intervention
Get the Bigger Picture
The world's first Back-up Collision Intervention (BCI) system is another significant evolution of driving confidence. When in reverse, BCI helps detect crossing vehicles and objects behind the vehicle and signals the driver with visual and audible alerts. If necessary, BCI goes further by automatically engaging the brakes to help avoid a collision.[*]

Blind Spot Intervention®
What You See
As you watch for vehicles beside you, so does your Infiniti. The innovative Blind Spot Intervention System uses radar to monitor the blind spot areas. If there is a vehicle in your blind spot and you begin to move toward it, the system will assist you in returning the vehicle back toward the center of the lane.[*]
