5-Star Overall Safety Rating

The 2015 Infiniti Q50 Hybrid has been awarded a 5-Star overall safety rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) under the agency's New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).[*] The ratings system is designed to provide consumers with information about crash protection and rollover safety. Five stars is the highest possible rating.

Lane Departure Prevention with Active Lane Control

An Industry First

Infiniti’s Lane Departure Prevention system senses unintended lane drift and automatically helps you return the car toward the center of the travelling lane.[*]

Straight Ahead

Infiniti's Lane Departure Prevention system uses a camera to monitor the distance between the vehicle and lane markings. If the vehicle drifts, the system signals a warning and can help the driver return the car toward the center of the travelling lane.

Predictive Forward Collision Warning

Anticipate the Road Ahead

This world's first system warns the driver of risks that may be obscured from the driver's view. It can not only sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle travelling in front of the preceding one.[*]

Two vehicles ahead

A vehicle slows down suddenly and unexpectedly, triggering a potentially dangerous situation.

Directly in front

The driver reacts to the sudden slowdown by quickly stepping on the brakes, but it may not be enough to prevent a collision.

Because of Predictive Forward Collision Warning, you have already been alerted to the potential risk and can respond accordingly, helping to avoid a collision.[*]

Backup Collision Intervention

Get the Bigger Picture

The world's first Backup Collision Intervention (BCI) system is another significant evolution of driving confidence. When in reverse, BCI helps detect crossing vehicles and large objects behind the vehicle and signals the driver with visual and audible alerts. If necessary, BCI goes further by automatically engaging the brakes to help avoid a collision.[*]

Blind Spot Intervention®

Safety Beyond
What You See

As you watch for vehicles beside you, so does your Infiniti. The innovative Blind Spot Intervention System uses radar to monitor the blind spot areas. If there is a vehicle in your blind spot and you begin to move toward it, the system will assist you in returning the vehicle back toward the center of the lane.[*]

Safety Shield

All Things Considered

The Infiniti Safety Shield® concept is our comprehensive approach to safety. The Q50 Hybrid offers layered technologies to help provide safety and convenience by monitoring conditions, helping you avoid a collision, and helping protect you and your passengers if one occurs.

Intelligent Cruise Control (Full-Speed Range)[*]

Available technology automatically adjusts speed to adapt to the traffic flow.

Distance Control Assist[*]

Available, industry-first system intuitively helps the driver release the throttle and apply brakes during traffic conditions that require frequent braking.

Around View® Monitor with Moving Object Detection[*]

The world’s first Around View® Monitor now with Moving Object Detection gives you a virtual 360° view of your parking environment and provides visual and audible warnings for detected moving objects within the display image.

Lane Departure Warning and Lane Departure Prevention[*]

Another industry first, Lane Departure Prevention senses unintended lane drift and automatically assists the driver to return toward the center of the lane.

Backup Collision Intervention[*]

The world's first Backup Collision Intervention (BCI) system is another significant evolution of driving confidence. Radar and sonar sensors on the side and back of the vehicle help alert the driver of a potential collision with a crossing vehicle while backing up. Should the driver continue moving on a collision course, the brakes will automatically engage.

Blind Spot Intervention® and Blind Spot Warning[*]

A world's first technology helps alert the driver, when attempting to change lanes, to the presence of a detected vehicle in the blind-spot area. It also assists the driver in returning the vehicle back toward the center of the lane.

Predictive Forward Collision Warning[*]

This world's first system warns the driver of risks that maybe obscured from the driver's forward field of view. It can not only sense the relative velocity and distance of a vehicle directly ahead, but also of a vehicle travelling in front of the preceding one.

Collision may occur

Forward Emergency Braking[*]

When the Infiniti-first system judges that deceleration is required, it alerts the driver using both a screen display and sound, then generates a force that pushes the accelerator pedal up and smoothly applies partial braking to assist the driver in slowing the vehicle down.

When the system judges that there is the possibility of a collision, it will automatically apply harder braking to help avoid a collision.

Forward Emergency Braking[*]

If conditions exist where a collision becomes unavoidable the Infiniti first system warns the driver and automatically engages the brakes to reduce speed and mitigate damage.
