Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
Infiniti's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) provides power where and when you need it, instantly adapting to changing conditions. By constantly monitoring wheelspin, throttle position and vehicle speed, this system automatically diverts up to 50% of the available power to the front wheels, enhancing traction and control in adverse conditions. When all-wheel drive is not needed, the system sends 100% of the power to the rear wheels for more responsive road performance.

Elevate Your Expectations
By remapping the delivery of power in the shape of a peaking wave rather than in a short-lived burst, Infiniti redesigned the way you experience acceleration. It is called Acceleration Swell: a progressive, seemingly limitless rush that builds faster the faster you push the 328-hp 3.7-liter VVEL® V6.
All in the Details
The switches and controls in your central console have been carefully engineered for instinctive reach and use. With a consistent level of resistance, and crafted for instant recognition, each button is designed with the philosophy that every little detail matters.

The Best Seats in the House
Engineers took 1,000 acoustic measurements to understand how sound would behave in the Q40 so that the speaker choices and locations would reproduce music with the richness of a live performance. Then they used a $30,000 home audiophile system as a benchmark to build the available Infiniti Studio on Wheels® by Bose®. With the unique Driver's Audio Stage setting, the sound is optimized to focus on the driver, creating a closer connection between artist and audience.
Respond to the Unexpected
To help enhance rear-wheel grip when accelerating, the Traction Control System senses wheelspin and automatically reduces engine output and/or brakes the spinning wheel to help give you a surer foothold. Acting in tandem with the Traction Control System, Vehicle Dynamic Control[*](VDC) compares actual vehicle cornering performance to the driver’s input, adjusting power levels and applying appropriate brake pressure to individual wheels to help correct oversteer or understeer, helping keep the vehicle on the steered path.
