3.5-L V6 Hybrid Powertrain
With the innovation of the Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid® system, the Infiniti M® Hybrid is able to deliver the power of a luxury V8 with the fuel economy of a four-cylinder. Featuring a 1 motor, 2 clutch parallel hybrid powertrain, the M Hybrid is able to go from 0-60 in less than six seconds and capable of driving in pure electric mode up to 62 mph. High-speed motor control technology enables seamless transition between the combustion engine and electric motor, providing a smooth and responsive ride that makes other hybrids seem sluggish in comparison.
Lithium-Ion Battery
Bringing performance into the world of Hybrids requires a battery that can exceed expectation. That is why every Infiniti M® Hybrid features a Lithium-Ion battery that provides double the power density of older Nickel-Metal Hydride batteries found in some other hybrids. The high-output battery allows for instant switching between charge and discharge, delivering unexpected performance with surprising efficiency.
Electric-Hydraulic Steering
Unlike other hybrids with a detached steering feel, the Infiniti M® Hybrid provides a natural and familiar performance feel by utilizing a unique hybrid steering system. The combination of electric and hydraulic components provides for nimble and responsive handling while saving fuel.
Regenerative Braking
When stopping or coasting in the Infiniti M® Hybrid, an intelligent regenerative braking system recaptures energy that would normally be lost and charges the Lithium-Ion battery. Not only does the M Hybrid recapture more energy over a broader rev range than competitors, it features an electronic booster to assist with braking.
