The QX60 Hybrid utilizes the Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid® system with a supercharged 2.5-liter inline 4-cylinder and an electric motor powered by a compact lithium-ion battery pack located under the 3rd row seat – maintaining a flat rear floor for easier passenger access to the rear seats and no impact to passenger or cargo room.

Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid
The Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid system uses a lithium-ion battery to provide supplementary power when accelerating, channeled through a one motor, dual clutch system to deliver full torque without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The regenerative braking system captures power normally lost during coasting and braking when needed, helping keep the lithium-ion battery charged to optimize fuel efficiency.
ONE MOTOR, DUAL
Infiniti Hybrid Performance Philosophy
The standard philosophy of performance improvement is based on two tenets: bigger engines and more fuel. The Infiniti philosophy of performance is based on one: hybrid. Through the application of advanced Infiniti technology, we are able to augment the stirring performance of our gasoline engines, with the added muscle of an electric power plant. A sublime fusion of power and efficiency, this drivetrain delivers power equivalent to a 3.5-liter V6 but with 4-cylinder fuel economy - that's Best-in-Class combined fuel economy[*] and with room for a 3rd-row of seats, all seven aboard will arrive in luxurious, yet efficient comfort.
Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT)
An Infiniti first, the QX60 Hybrid reshapes the delivery of power with a Continuously Variable Transmission. With a near infinite number of continuously varying gear ratios, CVT simultaneously adjusts the delivery of torque from the engine and the transfer of that torque to the wheels. The result - stepless shifting of gears and exceptionally smooth driving.
Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD)
The QX60 Hybrid's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) empowers you with confidence by intuitively adjusting handling and power delivery in adverse weather conditions. By constantly monitoring wheelspin, throttle position and vehicle speed, the system automatically diverts up to 50% of the available power to the rear wheels, enhancing traction and control when conditions are less than optimal. When all-wheel drive is not needed, 100% of the power is channeled to the front wheels.
