5-Speed Automatic Transmission with Manual Shift Mode and Downshift Rev Matching

Until it is harnessed, engine power is purely potential. Channeling the considerable power generated by the V6 engine is a 5-speed automatic. A sophisticated learning algorithm adapts to your individual driving style and shifts to optimize engine performance. Select manual shift mode and take complete control of the five precisely matched gears. When downshifting, the engine automatically adjusts engine speed output to smooth out shifts.

Independent Front and Rear Suspension with Aluminum-alloy Components

A double-wishbone front and multi-link rear suspension gives the Infiniti M exquisite ride quality on the open road, and firm, taut handling in corners. Springs, shocks, and stabilizer bars are tuned for crisp performance.

Infiniti Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition

Without being removed from your pocket or purse, the Infiniti Intelligent Key communicates with the Infiniti M as you approach, signaling the vehicle to unlock your door or trunk when you touch the sensor. Once inside, the Infiniti Intelligent Key lets you start the engine with a touch of the Push Button Ignition, then signals the seat, steering wheel and mirrors to adjust to your personalized memory settings. Enhanced Intelligent Key Memory allows each key to be linked to one of the two occupant memory positions. In addition this feature also adjusts climate control, audio, and navigation settings to be the same as they were when the engine was turned off with each Intelligent Key.

Front-seat Active Head Restraints (AHR)

In certain rear collisions, front-seat Active Head Restraints move upward and forward to help cushion the head, and to help assist in reducing whiplash-type injuries.

Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)

To help optimize braking performance for a variety of vehicle loads, EBD adjusts the amount of brake force applied to the front and rear wheels for improved braking performance, reduced front-end "dive" during braking and more even brake wear.

Infiniti Controller

The Infiniti Controller  along with the steering wheel, pedals and shifter  is how you communicate with your G Sedan. Audio, information and available navigation systems can be controlled by either the multi-function control knob, standard push buttons or steering wheel controls, allowing you to choose the method of interaction that best suits your needs. With available Infiniti Voice Recognition, you can even use the sound of your voice.

Infiniti Controller

The Infiniti Controller multifunction control knob – is one of the ways you can communicate with your Infiniti M . It features easy-to-understand manual controls and optional voice input. Many functions can be controlled by either the multi-functional control knob, traditional buttons or steering wheel controls, letting you choose the method of interaction that best suits your needs.

Brake Assist (BA)

In emergency braking situations, some drivers may not brake hard enough, soon enough. Brake Assist monitors how you apply the brakes and, sensing emergency braking, works with the standard ABS system to apply maximum brake pressure for potentially shorter stops.

4-Wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

G37 Convertible's large, 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes include a 4-wheel, 4-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to help the driver maintain steering control while braking.

Traction Control System (TCS)

To help enhance rear-wheel grip when accelerating, the Infiniti M’s Traction Control System senses wheelspin and automatically reduces engine output and/or brakes the spinning wheel to help improve traction.

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)

Acting in tandem with the Traction Control System, VDC compares actual vehicle cornering performance to the driver’s input, adjusting power levels and applying appropriate brake pressure to individual wheels to help correct oversteer or understeer, helping keep the vehicle on the steered path.

LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren)

Anchor points are located in the rear lower outboard seating positions where the seatback and seat cushion meet and a top tether anchor is located on the parcel shelf. They allow the placement of LATCH System compliant child-restraint seats in the rear seat. LATCH System seats allow easy installation and secure attachment without the need for ALR seat belts or locking clips.

Infiniti Vehicle Immobilizer System

The Infiniti Vehicle Immobilizer System embeds an encoded transponder chip into the Infiniti Intelligent Key. The engine control computer will not allow the engine to start without the correct key and transponder.

Vehicle Security System

The Vehicle Security System, which is activated and deactivated using the Infiniti Intelligent Key, will sound the alarm if intrusion is detected.

3-point height-adjustable front seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, driver's seat Emergency Locking Retractor (ELR), and passenger's seat ELR and Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR)

Seat belt pretensioners help tighten the front seat belts in certain frontal collisions, while load limiters are designed to "give" a little, helping reduce belt-force load transmitted to front occupants. All rear-seat passengers, including those in the center, are secured by 3-point seat belts.

Bose® Open Air Sound System

The Bose® Open Air Sound System monitors ambient noise, vehicle speed and hardtop position. Then it dynamically adjusts the amplifier's equalization to create unrivaled clarity regardless of the driving conditions.

Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL)

Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) technology continually adjusts intake valve lift and timing, delivering a quicker response and broader torque curve, while improving fuel efficiency.

3-piece Power Retractable Hardtop

The three-piece retractable hardtop was engineered to open and close in an unconventional clamshell manner to minimize bulk when folded, creating a slimmer, more appealing exterior look. It opens and closes smoothly and efficiently so you can get to the best part of the G Convertible experience: the drive.

Scratch Shield Paint

Scratch Shield is a soft clear coat technology that can heal most light scratches and swirl marks in the clear coat that do not penetrate into the base coat. It helps paint to better maintain gloss over time.

Adaptive Climate Control System

To maintain a comfortable, consistent temperature even when the top is down, the Adaptive Climate Control System automatically adjusts according to outside temperature, top position, and your speed. When it's warm outside and you're slowing down, the A/C blows more air to cool you down as the refreshing wind diminishes. When it's cold outside and you're speeding up, the heater blows more warm air as more cool air enters the cabin.

Advanced Climate Control System

The Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS) features a high-performance, Grape Polyphenol Filter, a Plasmacluster® air purifier that emits charged ions to trap airborne allergens, and an auto-circulation mode that engages when exhaust gases are detected outside the vehicle. These components work together to help prevent polluted air from entering the vehicle, to help filter the air entering the cabin, and to clean the air already in the cabin.

Interface System for iPod®

Just plug in your compatible iPod® and play your favorite songs through an easy-to-use interface that appears on your monitor. Includes a connector located in the center armrest.

RearView Monitor

Engage reverse and the in-dash monitor shows you what's directly behind from a tiny camera mounted unobtrusively on the trunk. The display features colored guidelines to help give you an accurate sense of how close you are to objects behind – right up to the rear bumper[*].

[*] The RearView Monitor is a convenience but is not a substitute for proper backing procedures. Always turn and check that it is safe to do so before backing up. The RearView Monitor may not detect every object behind you.

Spare tire not included, except in Maryland. In lieu of spare tire, a tire repair inflator canister is included. See owner's manual for instructions regarding proper use of the emergency tire sealant and replacement of tire pressure sensors. 5.6-liter (5,552cc) 32-valve V8 engine

The QX56 gets its 8,500 lb. towing capacity, thanks to a 5.6-liter V8 engine designed from the outset for heavy-duty applications. With a reinforced aluminum-alloy block, dual overhead camshafts, 32 valves and a forged crankshaft, it churns out 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque.

Infiniti All-Mode 4WD®

The All-Mode 4WD® system constantly calculates the precise traction needed and reacts with millisecond response time. Set the console-mounted dial to Auto and the system continually adjusts the amount of power distributed between the front and rear wheels to help enhance control and acceleration. The system also lets you take control with settings for 4H and 4L.

Hill start assist

Hill start assist under initial acceleration helps prevent rolling backwards if you're stopped on a hill.

When towing at or near Maximum Trailer Weight, the allowable vehicle cargo and/or number of passengers is reduced because it is necessary to stay below the Gross Combined Weight Rating and the Gross Axle Weight Rating. If the vehicle has cargo and passengers, the allowable Maximum Trailer Weight is reduced. See your Infiniti Towing Guide and owner's manual for proper use.

Hydraulic Body Motion Control system

Infiniti innovation provides a new standard in ride of control for full-size SUV's. The Hydraulic Body Motion Control system helps to efficiently reduce lean while cornering, to keep a more upright stature and more fluid response to your steering.

Infiniti Intelligent Key with Illuminated Push Button Ignition

Without being removed from your pocket or purse, the Intelligent Key can unlock your door or trunk when you touch the sensor.  Once inside, it lets you start the engine with a push of a button and can signal the driver’s seat, steering wheel,  and outside mirrors to adjust to your memory setting.

Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control system with microfilter

This feature lets the driver, front passenger and rear passengers set their own temperatures within the cabin. In addition, a sensor constantly monitors the quality of the outside air coming into the interior. An in-cabin microfilter filters the air you breathe inside your vehicle, helping to reduce road dust, pollen and other air pollutants.

Mild-flow vent

Quickly achieving the desired cabin temperature no longer requires a blast of air to the face or hands. Mild-flow vents circulate air over and around passengers, quickly but gently cooling or warming the entire cabin.

The Around View™ Monitor is a parking aid/convenience. Cannot completely eliminate blind spots or warn of moving objects. May not detect every object. Always check surroundings before moving vehicle. Not a substitute for proper backing procedures. Always turn to check what is behind you before backing up.

The front and rear sonar systems are conveniences, but not substitutes for proper parking procedures and/or backing procedures. Always check that it is safe to do so before moving forward or backing up. May not detect every object in front of or behind you.

Infiniti Advanced Air Bag System (AABS)

Air bags are only a supplemental restraint system; always wear your seat belt. Even with the occupant-classification sensor, rear-facing child restraints should not be placed in the front-passenger’s seat. Also, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. Air bags will only inflate in certain accidents; see your owner’s manual for more details.

Also, all children 12 and under should ride in the rear seat properly secured in child restraints, booster seats, or seat belts according to their size. Air bags will only inflate in certain accidents; see your owner’s manual for more details.

Front-seat Active Head Restraints (AHR)

In certain rear-end collisions, front-seat Active Head Restraints move upward and forward to help cushion the head, and to help assist in reducing whiplash-type injuries.

Front seat belts with pretensioners

In certain frontal collisions, front seat belt pretensioners are designed to take up a limited amount of slack in the shoulder belt to help minimize forward movement of occupants in their seats. Load limiters are designed to "give" a little, helping reduce belt-force load transmitted to front occupants.

LATCH System

For seating positions that have LATCH, anchor points are located in the lower outboard seating positions where the seatback and seat cushion meet and a top tether anchor is located behind the seat. They allow the placement of LATCH System child-safety seats in the rear seat. LATCH System seats allow easy installation and secure attachment without the need for ALR seat belts or locking clips. They meet the new federal standards.

Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)

Infiniti's Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) system detects vehicle-load conditions, such as passengers and luggage, and distributes additional brake pressure as needed.

Brake Assist (BA)

In emergency braking situations, many drivers don’t brake hard enough, soon enough. Brake Assist monitors how you apply the brakes and, sensing emergency braking, helps apply maximum brake force for potentially shorter stops.

4-wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

QX56's large, 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes include a 4-wheel, 4-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to help the driver maintain steering control while braking.

Blind Spot Warning

Blind Spot Warning helps alert the driver, when attempting to change lanes, to the presence of a detected vehicle in the blind-spot area. An indicator light illuminates, followed by an audible warning if the driver engages the turn signal.

Blind Spot Warning is not a substitute for proper lane change procedures. The system will not prevent contact with other vehicles or accidents due to careless or dangerous driving techniques or detect every vehicle or object around you.

Distance Control Assist (DCA)

Distance Control Assist intuitively helps the driver release the throttle and apply brakes during traffic conditions that require braking.

Distance Control Assist helps maintain a distance to the vehicle in front of you under certain conditions. Not a collision avoidance system. Failure to apply the brakes could result in an accident.

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)

Acting in tandem with the Traction Control System, VDC[1] compares actual vehicle cornering performance to the driver's steering input, reducing engine power and/or applying appropriate brake pressure to individual wheels to help correct oversteer or understeer, helping to keep the vehicle on the steered path.

[1] VDC, which should remain on when driving except when freeing the vehicle from mud or snow, cannot prevent accidents due to abrupt steering, carelessness, or dangerous driving techniques. Always drive safely.

Traction Control System (TCS)

The Traction Control System (TCS), integrated with Vehicle Dynamic Control, senses wheel spin during acceleration, automatically reduces engine output, brakes the slipping wheel, and helps redirect power to the wheel or wheels with better traction.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)/Tire Inflation Indicator

The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) measures individual tire pressure and features a display which shows this information for each tire. If one or more of the tires are under-inflated, a low tire pressure warning light will illuminate. Built into the Tire Pressure Monitoring System is a Tire Inflation Indicator.  When inflating the tire and the correct air pressure is reached, the turn signals will flash and the horn will sound to alert you to stop adding air.

Vehicle Security System

The Vehicle Security System, which can be activated and deactivated using the remote control key fob, will sound the alarm if intrusion via doors, hood or liftgate is detected.

4-Wheel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)

Infiniti G Sedan's large, 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes include a 4-wheel, 4-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) to help the driver maintain steering control while braking.

Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)

To help optimize braking performance for a variety of vehicle loads, EBD adjusts the amount of brake force applied to the front and rear wheels for improved braking performance, reducing front-end dive during braking and producing more even brake wear.

LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren)

Anchor points are located in the rear lower outboard seating positions where the seatback and seat cushion meet and a top tether anchor located on the parcel shelf. They allow the placement of LATCH System-compliant child-restraint seats in the rear seat. LATCH System seats allow easy installation and secure attachment without the need for ALR seat belts or locking clips.

Traction Control System (TCS)

Infiniti G Sedan's integrated Traction Control System (TCS) senses wheelspin while accelerating and automatically reduces engine output and/or brakes the spinning wheel to help regain traction.

Sold separately

Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)

Acting in tandem with the Traction Control System, VDC compares actual vehicle cornering performance to the driver's input, adjusting power levels and/or applying appropriate brake pressure to individual wheels to help correct oversteer or understeer.

Vehicle Security System

The Vehicle Security System, which is activated and deactivated using the Infiniti Intelligent Key, will sound the alarm if intrusion via doors, hood, or trunk is detected.
